Once moving to New Mexico, she taught for eight years at a private Montessori school before moving to Bernalillo Public schools, where she has been teaching since. While there, she has taught at both the middle and upper elementary school levels as a classroom teacher and reading interventionist. In addition, she serves as a structured literacy coach, new teacher mentor and SAT coordinator. This year, she has taken on the role as interim assistant principal. She has her master’s degree in education with an emphasis in literacy, holds a NM level 3 teaching credential and National Board Certification in EMC: Literacy.
