You know writing is a crucial aspect of a SOR-aligned classroom. You know it's best taught within the context of the content areas. But how do you make it happen? Our campus is using Joan Sedita's Writing Rope to lead the way to more effective writing instruction that is embedded within our content area classes. This session will discuss how to use explicit instruction, beginning at the sentence level, to instruct students in grammar, syntax, text structure, and writing craft—all while meeting the content area standards for science, social studies, mathematics, and literacy.
