About me
Esther Peterson has dedicated 25 years to education, beginning her career as an English immersion teacher for 3- and 4-year-olds learning English as a second language. She has taught Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade in both regular and bilingual settings, including multi-age K-2 classrooms.
Her expertise in literacy led her to serve as a content specialist for language arts, and she now holds the role of Associate Director for Teaching and Learning K-12 ELA. Esther holds a B.A. in Psychology, a Master’s in Pedagogy, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and an MBA.
She is extensively trained in the Science of Reading and is a certified LETRS facilitator, leading LETRS training for LCPS teachers. Her commitment to evidence-based literacy practices continues to support educators in fostering student success.
