Dawn Brookhart, M.A.T., M.Ed., is an accomplished leader, consultant, and instructional coach with nearly three decades of experience in transforming education. She collaborates with schools, districts, state education agencies, and educational organizations to bridge the gap between policy, research, and evidence-based practices, driving sustainable change in education systems across the nation. Her leadership has been instrumental in guiding schools to national prominence, including her work with National Blue Ribbon Schools and the creation of a groundbreaking reading and dyslexia training academy—featured in the Seattle Times—which was the first of its kind in a Pennsylvania public school.
Known for her expertise in the science of reading, Dawn has helped improve student outcomes nationwide by empowering educators with professional learning and coaching in high-quality literacy instruction. She co-authored Instructional Leadership in Student-Focused Coaching: Creating Effective Systems to Cultivate Student Success (Brookes Publishing, 2025), a resource that promotes shared leadership and collective efficacy. As co-founder of Ed Cap Consulting, LLC, she partners with her husband to build educator capacity and drive systemic change. Additionally, Dawn serves as the Vice President and co-founder of The Reading League Pennsylvania and is an IMSLEC-accredited Orton-Gillingham teacher.
